I had this long post about being lonely and missing people and general morosity, but what it really boils down to is:

Where can I buy a freaking rashguard suit that isn't either fugly or $100?

What's a rashguard suit?

It has a t-shirt style top. You see it on surfers a lot. I think they look cool, plus sun protection. Plus I have this vague hope that I'll get another adult to watch Mal so I can windsurf at some point.

For you, or the kiddo? For kiddie ones, try LLBean. It's called a "Wave Bodysuit" under infant/toddler swimwear, and it's $24.50. Not sure it would actually guard against rashes, but it does guard against sun!

Hee! Adult. Mal already has TWO rashguard/sunsafe suits. But not the Wave, which is very cute...

Any opinion on Greek beaches? My Greek friends have recommended Shinias, because the water is shallow a long way out.

I never went to the beach in Athens proper. Friends who did said it was very crowded and more a scene than an actual beach experience. I would recommend Marathon (though I imagine it gets crowded weekends; I've only been there out of season) and down the coast by Sounion there are a lot of longer, more empty stretches.

Now, if you can get away for a weekend, stay in Pylos (Messenias) and drive out to Voidokoilia: http://docs.classics.uc.edu/fmi/xsl/prap/images_single.xsl?&SR+of+Photo=015.23
