Housecleaning

Argh.  I suck at cleaning.  I spilled mango juice on the kitchen floor last night.  After Mallory went to bed (because, impossible with him awake) I mopped the floor.  Result:  rather than major stickiness in one spot, I now have light stickiness everywhere.

How does one mop a floor and actually get it clean?  The internet is no help on this one, as my technique matches the instructions.
