Cool

[livejournal.com profile] spectralbovine found this beautiful daemon-identifier at the official site of The Golden Compass movie. I came out with Achaen, the Tiger, but I suspect others' input may change that.

Seriously, this is one of the most beautiful sites I've seen in a while, and makes me hopeful about the movie.

In the year 2007 I resolve to:
Find Bin-Laden.

Get your resolution here.

Sweet. I oughta get a promotion for that.

So, just watched the pilot episode of "The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr." R and I kept looking at each other going, "Where have we heard that theme music before? Did they use music from somewhere else?" Then later, when I wasn't thinking about it, I said, "It's something with televised sports, like Monday Night Football." Finally the penny dropped: The Olympics TV broadcasts used the TAoBCJ theme music. Weird.

I'd never heard of this show until I read Bruce Campbell's book "If Chins Could Kill." I couldn't figure out WHY I'd never heard of it, as it seems right up my alley (Bruce Campbell, genre mashup, cancelled by Fox). Turns out it first aired the week after we moved to Romania. Ah well, this is why God gave us DVDs.

Memish

I'm never sure about posting the results of quizmemes where I didn't feel like any of the answers fit. I'm even less sure about posting quizmemes where the choice of tarot decks was "Winged, Dragon, Fantasical."

You are The Tower

Ambition, fighting, war, courage. Destruction, danger, fall, ruin.

The Tower represents war, destruction, but also spiritual renewal. Plans are disrupted. Your views and ideas will change as a result.

The Tower is a card about war, a war between the structures of lies and the lightning flash of truth. The Tower stands for "false concepts and institutions that we take for real." You have been shaken up; blinded by a shocking revelation. It sometimes takes that to see a truth that one refuses to see. Or to bring down beliefs that are so well constructed. What's most important to remember is that the tearing down of this structure, however painful, makes room for something new to be built.

What Tarot Card are You?

Face collage

It seems to match the pose more than the face, but here goes:  (I tried to post a couple different photos, but no joy.  In my more recent photo I got Emma Watson and Hilary Swank.)

Actually, Eva Peron isn't far off.  And I went as her one year for Halloween (it's also my standby costume for the FS "Deposed Dictators" party).

OK, ladies, it says right there that the right woman could get me to settle down. (Dude. They totally needed a hair question. A hair question would've aligned me correctly with Troi.)
